An all-American breed, the American Shorthair is an intelligent shorthair with a round face and small ears.There were many deaths in domestic mixed-breed kits, but purebreds did. The breed's name was changed in 1966 to distinguish them from domestic shorthair cats. This medium-sized cat has a gentle nature that makes this breed an excellent companion for families with children or other pets.
